An Intimate Camden Maine Wedding...

Okay, this has to be one of our all-time favorites.  Why?  Because it's proof of two things.

One: A small wedding can be just as lavish and elegant as a big one.  A small crowd does not necessarily mean a casual one.  The right venue, the perfect flowers, and lots of candlelight equates to big-time romance.

Two (and this one's the best one): The longer you live, the better love gets.  Gulp.  It's true, folks.

Enter Alejandra and Fred, both in their fifties and totally gaga for each other.  When Alejandra walked out on the patio of the Camden Harbor Inn to join her groom and speak her vows, we could all feel how crazy in love they were.  There they stood underneath our beautiful hand-made Chuppah, decorated with scads of Baby's Breath and hydrangea.  She was, in a word, radiant, and the look of sheer adoration on his face brought us to tears.  We can't make this stuff up!

The Camden Harbour Inn provided the perfect backdrop; a thoroughly contemporary space situated inside of a gorgeous Victorian Shell.  Trust us, it works.  The existing color palette of red, deep purple, and white was our inspiration, and boy were we inspired!  We created low centerpieces of deep red David Austin roses, ornamental ginger, and black calla lilies.  Each one was accented with a purple damask ribbon.  We then finished off the tables by adding a touch of sparkle with gold crackle votive holders--there were dozens of them!

As we reviewed these pictures last week, they took our collective breath away and we hope you'll feel the same way about them.  Congratulations Alejandra & Fred!!

Double Take

So, we finally did it. We loosed our energy and enthusiasm for all things beautiful on our own space and couldn't be happier with the results. We are now a full service floral design studio. We specialize in creating the perfect arrangement for any and every occasion, but we always have flowers by the stem so you can choose your own favorites. Our studio is also the best place to find unique, mostly Maine made gifts! We are now constantly in our happy place! We're working with flowers four to five days a week! Seriously!

Come in and feel the good juju from 10-2 Tuesday thru Friday. Like us on Facebook at Sweetest Thing Weddings and follow us on Twitter @ Sweetest Studio so you're always up to date on our latest specials and new merchandise. But, while you're waiting to get your sweet, little butt in here you can check out the pics of our new & improved space. Let the daydreaming commence!

Choose your own vase!  Our cards come from Angela Adams, Rachel Anderson, and Saturn Press.

Maine Made goodies from ChalkArt Creations and The Right Mat.

Vintage Inspired Castine Maine Wedding.

It's a snow day here in Maine.  Cold & Windy.  Makes a girl daydream of weddings future & weddings past.  So, today we went into our vault for an adorable wedding we did over a year ago. This fun, preppy, & vintage wedding was in Castine Maine, where the bride's family grew up summering.

What makes this wedding even sweeter, is the bride, Laura, came to Maine for a month as our intern this past summer.  We Love Her!! She is hilarious, creative & talented! We want Alan to come get a job in Maine so we can have her ALL the time.

Laura had a great vision for her wedding. Vintage, milkglass, chandeliers, greens and pops of yellow & blue.  She wanted a nontraditional, unique, preppy look, and she did it... beautifully!  We miss you Laura & your wild rice!!! xoxo

So snuggle in and be inspired by this vintage chic gem!
